Seattle WA December 2011 - Supporting the Salvation Army's annual Christmas Angel Toy n Joy event District 751 members pick up and deliver donated toys from area businesses employees. Then on December 22nd, underprivileged families get teamed up with a personal shopper volunteer to ensure their Christmas is special.

Seattle WA. June 2011 - Number 300! Machinists in Seattle put the finishing touches on their 300th wheelchair ramp for area recipients. The Machinists Volunteer Program was created in 1997 to help Build Better Communities. Completing their 300th wheelchair ramp was a great achievement.

Auburn WA - Auburn Clean Sweep

On Saturday May 7th Machinists Volunteers pitched in at the Annual Auburn Clean Sweep. Our team built a fence like structure and installed art panels. This was a great event to show District 751’s commitment to building a better community.

Seattle WA - Help for The Homeless at Qwest Field

Members of the Machinists Volunteer Program (MVP) teamed up with the United Way of King County to provide valuable services to the Seattle area homeless. If for nothing more than maybe just a day to say we appreciate you and give them access to a variety of services and even a little pampering, it was a good day.

Stanwood WA - MVP's Step up to help a fallen Brother -
January 15th 2011

When an aggressive cancer, took her husband of nearly 20 years and left her with a 13-year old daughter and a 12-year old son, Vicky found help from her family – her union family.

The Machinists Volunteer Program (MVP) was first contacted in late October to build a wheelchair ramp for the member in Stanwood, who was wheelchair bound after being diagnosed with cancer, which made it difficult to get in and out of his home for treatment. Making it even more challenging was the fact that he had moved his wife and two kids to the area just three years earlier to accept a job on the 787 line – leaving them with no real family support network to help. read more here...

Northwest Harvest Food Sort December 28th

Machinists volunteers gathered over the holiday break to help Northwest Harvest sort and pack thousands of pounds of frozen beans. Thank you to the members and their families for taking a little time during the holiday break to make our communities better. December 2010 - Toy n Joy Event with the Salvation Army in Seattle WA.

Machinists Volunteers spent much of the day on Monday December 20th gathering toys donated from various Puget Sound area businesses and organizations for the Salvation Army. Machinists also helped set up the Qwest Field exhibition center for the distribution event held on Tuesday December 21st.

 Thank you to all our Machinists Union brothers and sisters for helping to build better communities.

North Carolina
"Thanks to the support of the Brothers and Sisters of LL 2297, Operation Write-On was a rousing success. I spent the afternoon of Friday, September 11, delivering loads of school supplies to Arthur W. Edwards Elementary School, Havelock Elementary School, and Annunciation Catholic School."
