When an aggressive cancer, took her husband
of nearly 20 years and left her with a 13-year old daughter and a 12-year old son, Vicky found help from her family – her union family.
The Machinists Volunteer Program (MVP) was first contacted in late October to build a wheelchair ramp for the member in Stanwood, who was wheelchair bound after being diagnosed with cancer, which made it difficult to get in and out of his home for treatment. Making it even more challenging was the fact that he had moved his wife and two kids to the area just three years earlier to accept a job on the 787 line – leaving them with no real family support network to help. read more here...
